Every year, many cultures celebrate Lunar New Year (or Tết, in Vietnam) and associate the year with an animal from the zodiac. In Vietnamese culture, 2023 was tied to the cat, the 4th animal in our zodiac, as opposed to the Chinese zodiac’s rabbit.

To celebrate this, I drew a nón lá wearing cat delivering yellow chrysanthemums, a popular Tết flower, on a motorcycle. You’d be amazed at the sheer quantity of things can be balanced on a motorcycle in the streets of Vietnam.
